Local hockey fans got in the spirit of giving Monday during the Kingsford-Negaunee game at the Mountain View Ice Arena, with hundreds of stuffed animals donated for the fourth-annual Teddy Bear Toss, sponsored by First National Bank & Trust. Local hockey fans got in the spirit of giving Monday during the Kingsford-Negaunee game at the Mountain View Ice Arena, with hundreds of stuffed animals donated for the fourth-annual Teddy Bear Toss, sponsored by First National Bank & Trust. Spectators enthusiastically threw stuffed animals after the first home goal by Flivvers skater Jacob Crockford in the second period of the varsity contest. FNB officials estimated as many as 300-plus stuffed animals were donated through the event. The stuffed animals will be donated to area emergency responders, charities and crisis centers.
