Bay College joins the Michigan Community Colleges Jobs Consortium

ESCANABA — With the addition of Bay de Noc Community College, Michigan employers seeking job-ready talent can now reach even more colleges via the Michigan Community Colleges Jobs Consortium, powered by College Central Network.

CollegeCentral.com/miccjobs makes it both free and easy for all employers–large and small, public and private–to register just once and then post an unlimited number of jobs to Michigan’s community college students and alumni.

It is an useful resource for employers hiring in today’s climate, whether students are attending classes virtually or in person.

Employers posting jobs today can simultaneously reach tens of thousands of job seekers all across the state from Delta College, Grand Rapids Community College, Jackson College, Kellogg Community College, Lake Michigan College, Monroe County Community College, Mott Community College, North Central Michigan College, Oakland Community College, Schoolcraft College, Wayne County Community College District, to now Bay College.

“With a wide range of career paths, two campuses located in Escanaba and Iron Mountain, and clinical sites throughout the Upper Peninsula and beyond, Bay College has the talent Michigan needs to keep its economy growing and vibrant,” Justin Izzard, director of IT at Bay College, said.

“Without question, the Michigan Community Colleges Jobs Consortium makes it easy for employers across Michigan to extend their recruiting into the Upper Peninsula. In turn, Bay’s students and alumni gain access to job opportunities from employers specifically seeking in-state talent. Our students are skilled, job-ready, and eager to move straight into Michigan’s workforce,” he added.

“Employers need to target job postings,” Joy Miller, CCN’s Career Services Central national sales manager, explains, “With the consortium, not only can employers register once to post jobs for free, but each day our job agent also matches and emails jobs to Michigan’s community college job seekers, based upon their profiles. This streamlines the hiring process. Furthermore, with one posting, employers can go statewide or target a specific combination of regional Michigan community colleges.”

Career Services Central is the exclusive online career office management platform for career centers at all schools participating in the Consortium.

“Community colleges can have a great impact on the state’s economy. The Michigan Community Colleges Jobs Consortium website allows employers to easily recruit home-grown entry-level talent by removing as many barriers as possible, simplifying the hiring process. This is especially critical given employers’ ongoing needs for highly qualified candidates,” Miller said.
