IRON MOUNTAIN -- Rob Langsford remains president of the Iron Mountain School Board after a reorganizational meeting this week.
Lisa Basanese returns as vice president, along with Lisa Carollo as secretary. Shari Picucci-White will serve as treasurer, replacing Scott Celello, who will chair the negotiations committee.
Also serving on the board are Geno Basanese, building and grounds chair, and Foz Burgoon, technology chair.
The board, in other action:
-- Heard a building and grounds update from Geno Basanese. Some drywall repairs will be needed in connection with a heating system issue in the Izzo Mariucci Center. A leak that was not addressed on the same day caused the damage. Ongoing work elsewhere includes painting in the cafeteria; ceiling work and lighting. In the field house, carpeting in the coaches' office was replaced, the electric heater needs replacement and they are waiting on quotes for plumbing repairs. They are also looking at the bleachers in the Central School, a high school sound system, and waiting to hear on elevator inspection.
-- Accepted a letter of intent to retire from English teacher Heather Hiatt. She is a 1992 graduate of Iron Mountain High School and has taught English and art at Iron Mountain for more than 25 years.
-- Approved hiring Jenna Rossato as a part-time nurse. Her salary will be paid for by grants.
-- Honored student Jamie Stehley and teacher Michelle Haferkorn with Pride Awards.
-- Honored board members on Board Appreciation Month. They will each receive an embroidered Iron Mountain blanket and be honored during the boys basketball game on Friday.
