DIDHD: Past week adds 11 virus cases in Iron, nine in Dickinson

Local COVID-19 data Thursday for the past week showed more new confirmed positives in Iron County at 11 — along with two more deaths blamed on the virus — than in Dickinson County at nine.

Both totals are far reduced from what was seen in late January, at the height of the omicron variant’s surge in the region, when Dickinson County recorded 330 new positives and Iron County 143 cases in a week’s span Jan. 27.

Since its last report Feb. 24, the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department also was able to reclassify 371 people in Dickinson County and 186 in Iron County as recovered from the virus. In addition, Dickinson County had six probable cases and Iron County four probables.

The DIDHD had Dickinson County at 4,983 confirmed positives and 2,383 probable cases to date, with 6,962 recovered, 107 deaths and 297 cases still active. For Iron County, the agency had 2,300 confirmed cases to date and 344 probables, with 2,437 recovered, 83 deaths and 124 active cases.

Starting at $3.50/week.
