The reflective tape on an Iron Mountain firefighter’s clothing glows amid the darkness of a burned-out home in the 800 block of East C Street on Thursday in Iron Mountain. According to relatives, a woman and her two young girls were able to make it out of the house safely — the husband was not home — but a pet dog did not survive and the family lost most of their belongings to the fire, which started about midday Thursday and was extinguished by afternoon.
