DIDHD: 2 COVID cases, 1 death in Dickinson; 1 case in Iron
Local data Thursday indicated COVID-19 activity remains quiet, with only two new confirmed positives in Dickinson County — but another death attributed to the virus as well — while Iron County had one new case in a week’s time.
Dickinson County also recorded one probable case and had 11 people reclassified this week as recovered since the last local update March 31, according to figures posted Thursday on the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department’s Facebook page. Iron County had six recoveries.
The DIDHD on Thursday had Dickinson County at 5,001 confirmed positives and 2,384 probable cases to date, with 7,257 recovered, 110 deaths and 18 cases still active. For Iron County, the agency had 2,315 confirmed cases to date and 338 probables, with 2,557 recovered, 86 deaths and 10 active cases.
The DIDHD reports new COVID-19 figures once a week, usually on Thursdays.
For the five Wisconsin counties in the region, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Thursday had Marinette County unchanged since Wednesday at 11,581 COVID-19 positives and 122 deaths; Vilas County, 5,218 positives, up four, and 89 deaths; Forest County, 2,671 positives, up three, and 51 deaths; Iron County, unchanged at 1,467 positives and 47 deaths; and Florence County, 1,082 positives, down one, and 16 deaths.
