Few local primary races for Tuesday in Wisconsin
Two Republican candidates for sheriff are on Tuesday’s Wisconsin primary ballot, seeking to succeed incumbent Jerry Sauve, who is retiring.
The candidates, Chris Lesperance and Randy Miller, are longtime veterans of law enforcement.
Lesperance, a patrol lieutenant, has been with the sheriff’s department since 2003. Miller, a patrol sergeant, has 27 years of experience in law enforcement.
No Democrats have filed for the office.
A Republican primary will also take place for Marinette County clerk of circuit court. Two deputy court clerks are seeking the position — Jessica Olson of Pound and Carrie Brazeau of Coleman.
Sheila M. Dudka, the incumbent, did not seek reelection and no Democrats are running.
In Florence County, three incumbent Republicans are unopposed for county offices in Tuesday’s primary. They are Sheriff Dan Miller, Clerk of Circuit Court Jessica McCoy and Coroner Jeff Rickaby. No Democrats have filed.
