Green Bay murder suspect in custody in Alabama

CALEB ANDERSON

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay police say an Iron County, Mich., man suspected in a Packerland Drive homicide was taken into custody today in Alabama.

Earlier, Green Bay police put out a national alert for Caleb Anderson following investigation into the discovery of a body Tuesday morning at Mission Hill Apartments, across the street from Southwest High School.

“The victim’s vehicle was observed being operated in the Packerland Drive area shortly after the time we believe the death occurred,” police said this morning. “A person investigators believe to be operating the victim’s vehicle is Caleb Anderson.”

Police announced the arrest after 4 p.m. today and said the victim’s car was located, too, according to WBAY-TV.

Police initially thought Anderson might go to the Upper Peninsula, but then the car was spotted in the Greenville, Alabama, area.

The victim’s name has not been released.

According to Michigan State Police, Anderson is the suspect in an assault in Iron County that took place early Monday morning, several area news outlets reported.

That assault was against a female jogger and took place about 6 a.m. Monday on Bates/Gaastra Road, just north of Gaastra. The woman, 18, was alone but able to fight off the attacker and get away, state police said.

Starting at $3.50/week.
