IRON MOUNTAIN – Dickinson County District Court Judge Julie A. LaCost has issued her monthly activity report for September.
New criminal cases filed included 21 felonies, two drunk driving felonies, 18 misdemeanors and nine operating while intoxicated misdemeanors.
New civil cases included 12 general civil cases, seven small claims cases and five landlord-tenant cases.
New traffic cases included 17 misdemeanors and 99 civil infractions.
There were 16 non-traffic civil infractions.
Criminal dispositions included two guilty pleas to felonies reduced to misdemeanors; six felony preliminary examinations, one of which was bound over to circuit court and five of which were waived over to circuit court; 15 misdemeanors; one felony drunk driving guilty plea reduced to misdemeanor; one felony drunk driving preliminary exam, which was waived over to circuit court; and six operating while intoxicated misdemeanors.
Civil dispositions included eight general civil cases, seven small claims court cases and one landlord-tenant case.
Traffic dispositions included 13 misdemeanors and 67 civil infractions.
There was one non-traffic civil infraction.
Other activity included one court trial, six probation violation hearings, 16 drug-sobriety court referrals, 10 alcohol highway safety school referrals, one alcohol counseling referral; six sheriff work van referrals; four referred to alcohol counseling; five showcause hearings and two marriage ceremonies.
Funds turned over the Dickinson County Treasurer Lorna Carey totaled $51,484. The court trust was $110,441.
