NEGAUNEE — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post are investigating a fire early Friday at Carla’s Inn and Restaurant along U.S. 41 in Baraga.

At about 1:30 a.m. Friday, police from the MSP Calumet Post responded to a structure fire at 14258 U.S. 41 in Keweenaw Bay in Baraga County.

The fire caused a section of U.S. 41 in Baraga to be shut down until about 5:20 a.m. Saturday, at which time a single lane of highway was opened. The highway has since been fully opened in both directions.

Michigan State Police fire marshals are investigating the cause of the blaze.

Troopers from the MSP Calumet Post were assisted by the Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police and several other departments.
