History presentation on local theaters planned Sunday
IRON MOUNTAIN –Braumart Historic Lecture Series presents Bill Cummings with “The Bijou Theatre, The Colonial Theatre, and The Braumart Theatre.”
This 98-slide presentation will be presented at 1 p.m. Sunday at The Braumart by Cummings, a local historian. The first two of these venues served as both movie and vaudeville theatres. The presentation, illustrated with photographs, movie posters, newspaper advertisements and more, will show the evolution of these three theatres, including grand openings, remodeling, local productions, Saturday children’s matinees and live programs by famous performers.
The Braumart Historic Lecture Series presents three or four lectures a year about interesting Dickinson County and Upper Peninsula subjects. If you have any suggestions for this series, please contact The Braumart at braumart1983@charter.net.
The concession stand and doors will open at noon. As a special treat there will be complimentary sweets for all.
All general admission tickets are $8 and are available at the door.
