IRON MOUNTAIN — City residents are reminded that the overnight winter parking ban went into effect on Nov. 1 and extends through March 31.

The winter parking ban prohibits vehicles from being parked on streets, alleys and in city-owned parking lots between the hours of 2 and 7 a.m.

Director Ed Mattson advises that officers will not begin enforcing the overnight parking ban until the first snowfall or icy roads that require the plows/salters to come out. Residents should keep abreast of approaching weather systems forecasting snow and remove their vehicles from streets, alleys and city-owned parking lots, as enforcement will begin without further notice.
