FLORENCE, Wis. -- An 18-year-old male from Spencer, Wis., was killed and two other people seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on U.S. 2 near Westrin Road in the town of Florence, authorities said.
The crash was reported just after 2 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle driven by the Spencer teen crossed the center line and collided with a westbound vehicle occupied by a male from Crystal Falls and a male from Magnolia, Texas, Florence County Sheriff Dan Miller stated in a news release posted on the department's Facebook page.
The Spencer teen was pronounced dead at the crash site and the occupants of the westbound vehicle were transported to Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson, where they were reported Sunday to be in serious condition.
Assisting at the crash were the Florence Fire Department, Florence Rescue Squad, Integrity Paramedics, Florence County Highway Department and the Florence County Coroner's Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
