Voters approve North Alert, North Dickinson, IM requests
A millage renewal for North Alert Ambulance was approved Tuesday, along with an operating millage renewal for the North Dickinson County School District.
In Iron Mountain, voters approved a change in the city charter that will end civil service testing requirements for entry-level employees.
The North Alert service covers the city of Norway and Norway and Waucedah townships. The proposed five-year renewal of 0.5 mills, or 50 cents per $1,000 of taxable value, was approved 1,732 yes to 638 no.
Voters in the North Dickinson County School District approved a 10-year property tax renewal of 18 mills, or $18 per $1,000 of taxable value, to be levied on businesses and non-primary residences. The vote was 662 yes to 558 no.
The Iron Mountain charter change was approved 1,469 yes to 1,130 no. It was proposed to ease problems in filling open positions in a timely manner.
