2 charged in meth lab blast
MENOMINEE — Two Menominee men were arraigned Thursday in the 95-A District Court after a meth lab exploded in the city of Menominee.
Menominee County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey T. Rogg charged both David Allen Erdman, 43, and Donald Mark Myers, 50, in multiple-count felony complaints, including allegations of manufacture of methamphetamine, operating a laboratory near specified places, and operating a laboratory involving hazardous waste, each of which carry a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
The charges follow an explosion at a suspected methamphetamine laboratory, located at 1012 18th Ave. in Menominee on May 7.
The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team. conducted an investigation and executed search warrants.
UPSET seized ingredients and equipment needed to manufacture methamphetamine.
District Court Judge Robert J. Jamo appointed attorney Abigail Anderson to represent Erdman, and attorney Sara Seaborg to represent Myers. Probable cause conferences are scheduled on May 23, and preliminary examinations on June 1 for each case.
