The high school was constructed in 1917, with additions made in 1929 and 1949. The new elementary school was built at its current location at 700 Jefferson Ave. in 1976, with the middle and high school addition completed in 1993. The old school was demolished in 1994.

"This was the location of the Niagara Elementary and Niagara High School on the corner of Main Street. There was a building in the back by the playground that housed an indoor pool. We had swimming in our gym classes and we were issued generic swim suits: red, blue, or black depending on our size. My first job was a lifeguard at the pool for $1.25 an hour. The foreign language taught was Latin. We had great teachers and the school kitchen staff were awesome cooks."
