Fentanyl Forum planned May 23 in Marinette

MARINETTE, Wis. — The Women’s Giving Circle Committee of the M&M Area Community Foundation will host a Fentanyl Forum Tuesday, May 23, at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Marinette Campus, 1601 University Drive. All community members are invited to attend.

The event will begin with a free dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a showing of the 20-minute movie “Dead on Arrival.” Jane Deprey, a leader in raising awareness about the drug epidemic, will facilitate a discussion after the film. A panel of local parents who have lived this nightmare will share their story as well.

Both the dinner and the program are free to residents of Marinette and Menominee counties. In addition, the first 30 people who register will be eligible to receive a free personal medication lock box, valued at $40, as well as a free Harm Reduction Bag containing Narcan, fentanyl testing strips, Never Use Alone cards, the Wisconsin Department of Health Service’s Narcan Administration/Signs of an overdose card, a CPR mask, CPR card, gloves and a community resource guide.
