Invasive species trade-ups offered
KINGSFORD — The Wild Rivers Invasive Species Coalition is bringing back Invasive Species Trade-Up Days to Dickinson County May 22-27 at USDA Service Center, 420 N Hooper St, Kingsford.
Trade-Up Days are an opportunity for landowners to remove an ornamental invasive shrub from their property and exchange the plant for a monetary voucher to buy a native plant replacement or receive a native shrub on site.
Vouchers are redeemable at participating greenhouses, including Flowerland Greenhouse, Chenier’s Greenhouse, Danielson’s Greenhouse and Floral, and the Spread Eagle Garden Center.
For details, go to www.wrisc.org/events. Participants are encouraged to preregister, but it is not required.
