Dickinson Conservation District to host open house and election for conservation district board

IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Dickinson Conservation District will host an open house from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Systems Control Stage, 501 S. Stephenson Ave. in downtown Iron Mountain.
The open house will provide an opportunity for the public to learn about the district's conservation efforts in Dickinson County.
An election also will be done for a four-year term on the Conservation District Board of Directors. The current candidate running for reelection is Sue Pope.
During the open house, attendees can meet members of the conservation team and gain insights into their ongoing projects. The event will also feature a variety of natural resource-related booths.
Absentee ballots for the election can be completed at the Dickinson Conservation District Office in the USDA Service Center, 420 N. Hooper St., Kingsford.
This event is free and open to the public.
