Patrick Sanders of Niagara, Wis., was the $1,000 grand prize winner of the ninth-annual Niagara Knights of Columbus Jeff Champeau Memorial Duck Race. The fundraiser event took place last Saturday at Niagara's Heights Park. The owners of the first seven ducks to cross the finish line received a cash prize. The other cash prizes included: second place, Nick Houtari, $500; third, Rhonda Burton, $400; fourth, Brad Mineack, $300; fifth, Nikki Sanicki, $200; sixth, Zona Carlton, $100; and seventh, Jennifer Allerd, $50. Nikki Wolosyn of Niagara, Wis., was the $500 winner in the special drawing. The Knights of Columbus also hosted a beanbag tournament, games for the kids and awarded prizes throughout the event.
