IRON MOUNTAIN — Automated trash collections will start Aug. 14 in the city of Iron Mountain.

New garbage containers are being delivered to residents starting today, city officials said.

The new containers have an informational pamphlet attached covering use, placement and frequently asked questions.

Containers remain the property of GFL Environmental and are assigned to the house they were delivered to, the city said in a post on its Facebook page.

The new carts should not be used until the week of Aug. 14.

Also, the Aug. 14 date will start a change of collection day for many users. Maps will be provided to identify the days of collection.

Starting at $3.50/week.
