Escanaba has two stabbings within a few days

ESCANABA -- A second stabbing in less than a week in Escanaba left a man with serious injuries early Saturday, local authorities said.

The most recent stabbing occurred at 12:24 a.m. Saturday in the back lounge area of the Granada Bar, 330 S. 10th St. in Escanaba. When Escanaba Public Safety officers arrived at the bar, they found a man had been stabbed in the abdomen. He was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital by Rampart EMS.

A male and a female were arrested and are in the Delta County Jail.

Delta County Central Dispatch, Delta County Sheriff's Office, Delta County Prosecutors Office, Rampart EMS and Michigan State Police at the Gladstone Post assisted.

The earlier stabbing happened about 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of First Avenue North. Officers found a male with a stab wound to his forearm. Rampart EMS transported him to OSF St. Francis Hospital.

Officers determined multiple weapons were involved during their initial investigation. One male was arrested and officers said more charges are pending.
