MARQUETTE -- A one-vehicle rollover crash killed an Ohio driver on County Road 581 in Ely Township early Saturday evening, the Marquette County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies said a southbound vehicle crashed into a guardrail, re-entered the road and hit the guardrail again before rolling over into a ditch on the west side near County Road D.
The driver was pronounced dead by emergency medical responders, the sheriff's office stated in a news release. The crash was reported just after 6 p.m. Eastern time.
Alcohol was not believed to be a contributing factor and the crash remains under investigation.
Assisting were Ishpeming Police Department, Ishpeming Township Fire Department, Michigan State Police, Upper Peninsula Health System-Bell EMS, and Anttila's Towing.
The name and age of the victim were not yet released.
