IRON MOUNTAIN -- A 20-year-old Iron Mountain man was seriously injured in a side-by-side crash early Sunday on Turner Road in Sagola Township, according to the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office.
The dispatch center received an automated alert at 1:19 a.m. that the owner of an Apple iPhone was in a severe crash and not responding to their phone, Undersheriff Aaron Rochon stated in a news release. Deputies were dispatched to the crash site and the driver of a 2022 Polaris RZR was transported to UP Health Systems in Marquette, where he remained in critical condition Monday, Rochon said.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the vehicle was eastbound on Turner Road when it left the road, rolled over and hit a tree.
Assisting were Sagola Township Fire Department, STAR Ambulance, Integrity Ambulance and Town & Country Towing.
