LAPP ice cream social set
An ice cream social is planned prior to tonight’s monthly meeting of Lake Antoine Park Partners. The public is invited to see two of the organization’s biggest projects in 2023. If you are interested in seeing the completed history wall that members of the community helped create, a chance to read it and talk with its creators will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the park’s beach house at N3933 Quinnesec-Lake Antoine Road, Iron Mountain. The pictorial display of the people, businesses and groups who shaped this part of the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin was funded in part by Dickinson Area Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization established in 1995. DACF promotes philanthropy, receives and administers charitable gifts and invests in programs that improve the quality of life in the Dickinson area by promoting charity, education and culture in the community. The second big project of LAPP is the development of a butterfly garden on the lakeside of the beach house; it is in full bloom for folks to visit.
