KINGSFORD -- On Friday, Kingsford High School students are taking an educational field trip to the Dorothy Fox Forest to learn about surveying, forestry, and planting. They will be led by Robert Martonen, a KHS teacher; Josh Isaac, district forester; Stu Boren, head forester at Dorothy Fox Woods; and Andy Buck, surveyor.
The Dickinson Conservation District donated approximately 400 trees of five different native species to Kingsford High School so that the students can gain first-hand experience at planting trees.
The Dickinson Conservation District is proud to support the local school system and hopes that some of these students are inspired to work in forestry/conservation/other natural resource professions someday, a spokesman said.
