Florence Elementary School held its third annual STEAM Night on Oct. 19. The theme this year was Rock and Roll with inspiration from the book "Ricky the Rock that Couldn't Roll." Teachers led activities for families that were science, technology, engineering, art, or math based. "We were fortunate to have so many community partners participate with activities for the families including UW Extension, Bay College, Systems Control, Grede, DNR, Home Depot, Boss," said Vanessa Schimmelpfenning, elementary principal and director of special education. "Our PTO donated a parent gift box of Florence gear and Smith and Co. donated prize bags for kids that included a STEAM activity and the Ricky the Rock book." About 130 people attended.
