Christmas on the Bay planned

MARINETTE, Wis. — In December, Theatre on the Bay returns with its seasonal favorite “Christmas by the Bay,” a collaboration with Children’s Theatre and First Street Academy of Dance, featuring local talent.

This year the theme is “stage and screen,” and the audience is invited to sing along to their favorite movie and musical favorites.

Tickets are now on sale for performances Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8-9, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. Go to the Theatre on the Bay website for details. The show is directed by Brittany Welch.

A preview of solo, duet, quartet, ensemble and more songs include: “Counting Down to Christmas,” from “A Christmas Story, The Musical”; “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” from “Home Alone”; “That Christmas Morning Feelin’,” from “Spirited”; “Hot Chocolate” from “Polar Express”; “White Christmas” from “Holiday Inn.”

Visitors to the show will enjoy recent theater renovations that include new seating and technology upgrades for lights, sound and streaming capability.

Theatre on the Bay is sponsored by UW-Green Bay’s Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training, offering adults and youth opportunities to participate in theatrical productions. Since 1966, Theatre on the Bay has been a community treasure with its home stage on the Marinette campus.
