Bay College partners with the LWV and AAUW to host a voter education event

ESCANABA — Bay College is partnering with the Delta County League of Women Voters and the Escanaba branch of American Association of University Women for a voter education event at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The event will be in JHUC 952 on the Escanaba campus and is free and open to the public.

The program will focus on explaining upcoming changes to Michigan election procedures, including nine days of early voting, permanent absentee ballot applications, local drop boxes and more.

In addition to a PowerPoint presentation by Ann Bissell of the LWV and an overview by Delta County Clerk Nancy Przewrocki, former and current Delta Board of Election Canvassers Margaret Carignan and John Meyers will be available to answer questions, drawing on years of experience with the process of election verification and secure ballot counting procedures.

Early voting options take effect for federal and state elections in 2024. These new changes will be implemented for the Michigan Presidential Primary on Feb. 27.

Bay College was designated a Voter-Friendly Campus for 2023-2024 and this event contributes to those ongoing efforts.
