Lane closure for bridge work

1 min read

COVINGTON -- Motorists should expect brief delays at the U.S. 141 bridge over the East Branch of the Net River in Iron County when work resumes today, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.

Beginning today and continuing to Friday, one alternating lane will remain open at the bridge using temporary traffic signals or traffic regulators.

Some substructure work on this bridge is needed to complete part of the $4.9 million Michigan Department of Transportation investment to rebuild four bridges in Iron and Ontonagon counties begun last year.

This investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 70 jobs. It will extend the lifespan of the bridges and result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists.

Starting at /week.
