Positive ID sought in fatal car crash
MARQUETTE — A positive identification through DNA analysis is pending after a fatal car fire Friday night in Marquette Township.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office believes the victim is 23-year-old Alex Duquette of Marquette Township, who was the lone occupant of a car that left County Road 492 near Everly Way at a high speed, hitting several trees and catching fire.
Deputies were dispatched at 9:50 p.m. to the crash site and found the vehicle engulfed in flames, the sheriff’s office stated in a news release.
The fire was put out by Marquette Township Fire Department and a single victim was found inside. The crash remains under investigation.
