Eclipse event at North Dickinson
The football field at North Dickinson County School provided an open venue to view Monday afternoon’s solar eclipse, or what could be seen through the mostly cloudy skies. While not ideal, the school district’s roughly 250 students plus staff and community members did get several good looks when the clouds parted or thinned enough to let the sun with the moon’s shadow peek through. The event was organized by Dickinson County Library, which has its North Dickinson branch inside the school and also provided the protective eyeglasses obtained with grant funding from the Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries, or SEAL, program.
