MDOT meeting Monday on Kingsford project

KINGSFORD — A public meeting has been set for Monday by the city of Kingsford and the Michigan Department of Transportation to discuss this year’s rebuilding project on M-95/Carpenter Avenue from Hamilton to Woodward avenues in Kingsford.

The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. in Kingsford City Hall, 305 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.

MDOT plans to invest about $2.2 million to rebuild the asphalt pavement and replace water main and sanitary sewer. Work is expected to begin this spring and be completed in August.

A brief presentation on the project will be followed by a question-and-answer session. The session will immediately precede a Kingsford Planning Commission meeting.

The meeting will include MDOT and city staff, interested residents and business owners and community stakeholders.

Those who require mobility, visual, hearing, written or other assistance for effective participation should contact Orlando Curry at 517-241-7462 or CurryO@Michigan.gov. Forms are on the Title VI webpage. Requests will be evaluated and honored to the extent possible.

MDOT will post project information on the Mi Drive website and will also share on social media while the work is in progress.
