KINGSFORD — An 18-year-old male was taken into custody early Friday after reportedly trying to enter a home on the 600 block of Edsel Street where he was confronted by the homeowner who held him until officers arrived, Kingsford Public Safety Department reported.

The incident was reported at 12:06 a.m. after the suspect broke through a wooden fence and proceeded to the back door of the residence, breaking a window on the door and gaining entry into the residence, KPS said in a news release.

Upon arriving, officers found the homeowner holding the suspect in the back yard, trying to keep him there, KPS said.

No further details were being released Friday pending further investigation of the incident.
