Dickinson Area Community Foundation seeking applications for 2025 grant cycle
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson Area Community Foundation and its two affiliates, the Crystal Falls Area Community Foundation and the Norway Area Community Foundation, will be paying out up to $626,913 in grants and scholarships for 2025.
Up to $263,595 in scholarships will be awarded in 2025 through these high schools: Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Norway, North Dickinson County, Crystal Falls and West Iron County, plus Niagara, Florence County and Pembine in Wisconsin. Graduating seniors should check with their scholarship coordinator for the applications and criteria for the DACF scholarships offered at their school. Applications and criteria will be available on the DACF website starting in January.
There is $363,318 available for agency and field of interest grants in 2025. Grant application forms for field of interest grants are now available on DACF’s website at www.dickinsonareacf.org.

Deadline for application submission to the foundation is Oct. 25. Grant funds will be awarded in the first quarter of 2025.
There is $71,543 available for field of interest program grants during the 2025 Grant Cycle. Grants are available from these funds to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and agencies or organizations that are affiliated with non-taxable organizations such as, schools, churches, cities located in or servicing people in the Dickinson County area and surrounding Michigan and Wisconsin areas:
— Veterans Assistance Fund: New this year, $1,590 available for grants to non-profit organizations that support veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
— Civic Improvement Fund: $3,840 in funds available for collaborative project(s) to benefit or serve the Iron Mountain, Kingsford, and Breitung Township communities. The Grant Committee includes a representative from each community.
— Community Health Fund: $2,270 available for grants for youth and senior health-related programs (i.e., programs designed to reduce behavioral risk factors such as substance abuse, alcohol/binge drinking, smoking, and depression; and to encourage healthy activities).
— Environmental Fund: $2,305 available for grants for projects that improve or create methods of enhancing natural resources in the region.
— The Fine Arts Fund: $2,479 available for grants for projects in the area of theatrical, musical and performing arts.
— Health Care Fund: $2,703 available for grants for programs involved in prevention, primary physical health care, educational and other health-related services.
— Homeless Prevention Fund: $3,893 available for grants for programs that provide assistance to people in need to prevent loss of homes.
— Hunger Fund: $2,478 available for grants to organizations that provide food to people in need.
— Iron Mountain/Kingsford Kellogg Youth Fund: $22,588 available for granting to applicants from the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Area by the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Youth Advisory Committee for youth-related programs.
The Norway Area Community Foundation and the Crystal Falls Community Foundation will be funding $27,397 in field of interest grants for 2025. Non-profit organizations and agencies in the Norway and Crystal Falls communities may apply for grants in these fields of interest:
— Norway Affiliate Fund: $3,707 available for grants for programs in the Norway community area.
— Norway Kellogg Youth Fund: $3,367 available for grants to applicants from the Norway Area by the Norway Youth Advisory Committee for youth-related programs.
— Forest Park Youth Fund: $19,382 available for grants by the Forest Park Youth Advisory Committee for youth-related programs in the Crystal Falls area.
— Crystal Falls Community Project Fund: $941 available for grants supporting community projects in the Crystal Falls area.
There will be $263,303 in grant funds will be paid out to these Dickinson area non-profit agencies — Adult Basic Education, Almost Home Animal Shelter, Bay Cliff Health Camp, Crystal Lake Senior Center, Dickinson County Bike Path (DTN), Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet, Dickinson Conservation District, Northern Lights YMCA, Menominee Range Historical Foundation, Northwoods Air Lifeline, Friends of the Braumart, Friends of Camp Batawagama, NorthPointe, Champion Romney (Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency), Dickinson Hospitals’ Foundation Administration Fund, Dickinson Hospitals’ Foundation Benevolent Fund, Dickinson Hospitals’ Foundation Community Fund, Dickinson Hospitals’ Foundation Capital Fund, Dickinson Hospitals’ Foundation Newberg Living Endowment Fund, Visual Arts Fund (Association of Student Artists), DACF Administrative Fund, DACF Unrestricted Fund and the Salvation Army — that have established agency funds with the foundation.
In addition, $4,449 in agency grant funds will be paid out to the following Crystal Falls area non-profit agencies that have established agency funds with the foundation: Harbour House (Crystal Falls Koob Historic Fund), the Contemporary Center (Crystal Falls Koob Youth Fund), and the United Lutheran Church Walter and Alice Hagglund Youth Fund.
Earnings from the individual organizations’ agency funds are disbursed annually to the designated agency or organization, in accordance with the Dickinson Area Community Foundation spending policy.
