Decorating Niagara for fall
The Main Street Makeover group recently decorated Niagara, Wis., for the fall season. With the display at Niagara City Hall, from left are Jeri Allen Joetta Bartolac, Kathy Westrich, Audrey Fredrick, Deb Lindgren, Kathy Spade and Lynn Burke. They put out at least 125 pumpkins throughout the city, along with straw bales and scarecrows. Many of the displays can be seen along U.S. 141. The volunteers of Main Street Makeover change flags and do seasonal and holiday-related decorations three times a year, along with maintaining the planters and other flowers during the summer. Their efforts are supported through donations and fundraising events. Main Street Makeover still could use new members — to volunteer for the program, contact Burke at 715-556-4850 or Niagara City Hall at 715-251-3235. Donations for the Main Street Makeover project are welcome, too, and can be made at City Hall as well as the Niagara branches of mBank and Forward Financial Credit Union. (Karen Klenke photos)
