District court report released for September

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County District Judge Julie A. LaCost has issued her activity report for the month of September.

New criminal cases for the month included 21 felonies, 21 misdemeanors, four felony drunk driving and eight OWI/OUID misdemeanors.

New civil cases for the month included 25 general civil cases, four small claims and 11 landlord/tenant disputes.

New traffic cases included 66 civil infractions, 11 misdemeanors and eight non-traffic civil infractions.

Criminal dispositions for the month included three felony guilty pleas, one felony dismissed, 14 felony preliminary exams with one bound over to circuit court and 13 waived over to circuit court one felony drunk driving exam that was waived over to circuit court, 15 misdemeanors and 11 OWI/OUID misdemeanors.

Civil dispositions included 18 general civil, one small claims, four landlord/tenant and one summary proceeding.

Traffic dispositions included 31 civil infractions and four misdemeanors. There were three non-traffic civil infractions.

The district court handled two court trials, two probation violation hearings, eight drug-sobriety court referrals, four defendants were referred to the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, four defendants were referred to the sheriff work van and four defendants were referred to alcohol counseling.

There were four show cause hearings and five marriage ceremonies.

Funds turned over to the Dickinson County treasurer totaled $41,660.84. Funds turned over to the court trust totaled $10,900.64.
