On Friday, local art teachers from the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District attended an inspiring Art Education Conference at Northern Michigan University. Participants included Sarah Western of Kingsford High School and Emily Westphal, Kingsford Middle School, along with Katie Dahlman from Norway-Vulcan, and Alisa Porier from West Iron. They engaged in sessions led by NMU professors on a wide range of media, including ceramics, computer art, graphic design, industrial design, and printmaking. The event offered a valuable opportunity to network with like-minded educators and provided fresh inspiration for enhancing curriculum and instruction in their own classrooms.
