IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Democratic Party will be hosting Paul Putnam, district director for the Michigan State University Extension, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the LIUNA Labor Hall at 1800 N. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.

Putnam will speak about the local cut to 4-H and other Extension services by the newly elected Dickinson County Board. Topics for discussion will include what this vote means to the county and the residents who will be most affected.

Putnam started his career with MSU Extension in 2014. Prior to that, he spent six years as a community, natural resources and economic development educator with University of Wisconsin Extension. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University, and a master’s degree from University of South Carolina.
