No one injured in Kingsford apartment fire
KINGSFORD — No one was injured in a fire Saturday morning at Pine Bluff Apartments that was contained to one unit, according to the Kingsford Public Safety Department.
KPS was dispatched at 9:17 a.m. to the apartment building on the 600 block of Westwood Avenue, finding a large amount of smoke coming from a second-level apartment, KPS Director Brandon Rutter said in a news release.
Officers evacuated occupants from the building, along with an adjoining second apartment building. Officers ventilated the building after containing the fire. Other apartments had minor smoke and water damage, Rutter said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Assisting were Iron Mountain Fire Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Iron Mountain Police Department, Integrity EMS, DTE Energy and We Energies.
The American Red Cross was contacted and advised of the incident.
