Dickinson district court report released for April
IRON MOUNTAIN – Dickinson County Judge Julie A. LaCost has issued her activity report for the month of April.
New criminal cases for the month included 24 felonies, 27 misdemeanors, six OWI/OUID misdemeanors and felony drunk driving.
New civil cases for the month included 47 general civil cases, seven small claims cases and nine landlord/tenant disputes.
New traffic cases included 90 civil infractions, 25 misdemeanors and 18 non-traffic civil infractions.
Criminal dispositions for the month included five felony guilty pleas with one dismissed, 10 felony preliminary exams with four bound over to circuit court and six waived over to circuit court, one felony drunk driving reduced to a misdemeanor guilty plea, three drunk driving preliminary exams that were waived over to circuit court, seven misdemeanors and four OWI/OUID misdemeanors.
Civil dispositions included 27 general civil, two small claims, four landlord/tenant and one summary proceeding.
Traffic dispositions included 70 civil infractions and seven misdemeanors. There were nine non-traffic civil infractions.
The district court held two court trials, eight probation violation hearings, one drug-sobriety court referral, four defendants were referred to the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, four defendants were referred to the Shoplifters Counseling Program, one defendant was referred to the sheriff work van and three defendants were referred to alcohol counseling.
There were three show cause hearings and four marriage ceremonies.
Funds turned over to the Dickinson County Treasurer totaled $51,056.92. Funds turned over to the court trust totaled $12,685.90.
