BDP School District holds awards program

PEMBINE, Wis. — The 2025 Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District annual awards program was held at the Pembine High School gymnasium on May 14.

Katie Schmeelk, NHS adviser, inducted three students into the Pembine High School Chapter of the National Honor Society during the awards program.

The newly inducted members are Wailer Severson, Raedyn Walker, and Jolie Seidel. Current NHS members Lilyanne Seidel, Alayna Neubert, and Brooklyn Naber were also recognized.

Scholarships and awards were presented by various presenters including Vince Czahor, Lynn Stankevich, Scott Swanson, Samantha Smiley, Lisa Hanson, Mike Littman, Sarah Eloranta, Kaitlin Deschane, Ralph and Vicki Papesh and Ryan Berger.

The following scholarships were awarded to the graduating seniors:

Lillyanne Seidel: Dr. DE Thomas Trust Scholarship, Forward Financial Scholarship, Pembine Education Scholarship, Pembine Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, Paul Ganshirt Memorial Scholarship, BDP Alumni Scholarship, Marinette/Menominee Chamber of Commerce Future Focus Scholarship, Student Council Scholarship, American Legion Scholarship, and HEAB Academic Excellence Award.

Alayna Neubert: Dr. DE Thomas Trust Scholarship, Paul Ganshirt Memorial Scholarship, Stephenson National Bank Louis Staudenmaier Scholarship, MMACF James, Dawn, and Allen Scholarship, BDP Alumni Scholarship, and Student Council Scholarship.

Brooklyn Naber: Dr DE Thomas Trust Award Scholarship, Mike Bryant Memorial Scholarship, Dr. DE Thomas/MMACF Scholarship, Paul Ganshirt Memorial Scholarship, Specialty Granules Scholarship, Niagara Area Medical Society LTD Award Scholarship, Beecher Dunbar Pembine Blood Drive Scholarship, Pembine Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, Jeffery L. Davis RN Scholarship.

Ava Geldmeyer: Mike Bryant Memorial Scholarship, Edna Merritt Memorial Scholarship, Albert and Marion Schaffer/Rhodes Scholarship, Sheri Stepien Memorial Scholarship, Niagara Area Medical Society LTD Award Scholarship, and Ralph and Vicki Papesh Memorial Scholarship.

Karma Hartwick: Eric Swanson (Patriots) Scholarship.

Several departmental awards were also given for academic excellence in each subject along with forensics awards and scholar athlete awards.

In closing the ceremony Stankevich stated, “The Board of Education, administration and staff would like to thank all of you personally for attending our scholarship awards program. Also, we as a school district, would like to thank each and every award and scholarship donor for their continued generous support of our class of 2025.”
