MARINETTE, Wis. — A Green Bay, Wis., teen was killed Saturday in a sport motorcycle crash on Loucks Road in southern Marinette County, authorities said.

Jerin B. Bucher, 16, was westbound about 9:51 a.m. in the Town of Grover when he lost control of the cycle, went into a ditch and crashed, Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller said in a news release Sunday. Bucher was wearing a helmet but sustained fatal injuries.

The crash was reported to 911 dispatch by someone who heard it after seeing a vehicle go by on Loucks Road near England Road, Miller said.

Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, Miller said.

Assisting were members of the Grover-Porterfield Fire Department, Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area EMS and 180 Auto Towing and Recovery.
