Highway project to begin today in Crivitz

CRIVITZ, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reminds motorists that construction will begin today to improve 1.45 miles of U.S. 141 from Owl Lane to the south junction of Old Highway 141 in the village of Crivitz.

Construction for the $1.94 million contract is expected to finish by mid-October. U.S. 141 will remain open during work, except for a five-day closure for railroad work. Northeast Asphalt Inc. from Greenville, Wis., is the primary contractor.

This project will convert the existing four-lane roadway through Crivitz to a three-lane roadway with two-way left turn lane.

U.S. 141 will be open to at least one travel lave in each direction during construction, except for a five-day closure for railroad crossing work at the end of the project. During this time, motorists will be detoured via Wisconsin 64 and County W.

The project has a dedicated 511 Wisconsin Construction website at https://projects.511wi.gov/141crivitz/.

During construction, traffic impacts will be featured weekly on the Northeast Region Weekly Highway Construction Advisory at https://projects.511wi.gov/weeklyupdates-ne/.

Starting at $3.50/week.
