M-69, US 141 resurfacing set to start Thursday
IRON MOUNTAIN — Portions of M-69 and U.S. 141 in Dickinson and Iron counties will be resurfaced as part of a $737,000 project through the Michigan Department of Transportation, with Thursday as a tentative start date.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures with traffic regulators in the work zones during the project, which is expected to be completed in mid-September, the DOT states in a news release.
The work will include 2.5 miles of asphalt milling, crack filling, resurfacing, surface sealing, centerline and shoulder rumble strips, shoulder gravel and pavement markings on M-69 from west of Lake Mary Road to west of Mansfield Cutoff Road in Iron County and on U.S. 141 from the state line to U.S. 2 in Dickinson County.
This project includes a three-year pavement performance warranty and should extend the lifespan of the roadway, provide a smoother ride and increase safety, according to the DOT.
