ND man injured in motorcycle collision

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP — A North Dakota man was injured Tuesday morning when the motorcycle he was operating collided with a vehicle on U.S. 2 at the U.S. 141 junction.

The 69-year-old driver of the motorcycle was traveling west on U.S. 2 about 8:17 a.m. when he struck a car that was also westbound and stopped at a red light, according to a news release posted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.

The motorcycle driver, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by Integrity Care EMS to Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson for treatment. No information was provided on his condition or extent of his injuries.

The car’s driver, a 70-year-old Gladstone man, was not hurt.

Preliminary findings are that the motorcyclist was at fault, although the accident remains under investigation, the sheriff’s department states.

Assisted at the site were Iron Mountain Police Department, Kingsford Public Safety, Breitung Township Fire Department and Integrity Care EMS.
