The Suns of Memphis play Thursday

The Suns of Memphis
NORWAY — Music in the Park will welcomes another new group to the stage as The Suns of Memphis present the fifth concert of the summer. The free summer music series will continue at 7 p.m. Thursday at the bandshell in downtown Norway.
Keeping the juke joints jumpin’ and the dance halls hoppin’, the Suns of Memphis are purveyors of bonafide rockabilly, Honky Tonk, and real country music. The band hails from Menominee, and features Matt Beaudo on the upright bass, Aaron Brill on guitar, and Jesse Peterson on drums. The Suns of Memphis draw material from the earliest days of rockabilly at Sun Records, add a healthy dose of roots rock and country, and top it off with some of their own original music.
Be prepared to hear some of your favorite songs by artists such as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Horton, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Hank Thompson, Webb Pierce, Merle Haggard, Faron Young, BR5-49, The Stray Cats and more.
“We hope folks that come into Iron Mountain for this week’s Out to Lunch concert, featuring The Pink Violin Band, will enjoy the afternoon, have a nice dinner in the area and come on down to beautiful bandshell park to hear the timeless music from this great trio. It’s our fifth free performance of this summer’s fabulous series,” event coordinator Carol Sundstrom said.
A lovely, sunny Thursday evening had live music fans packing the bandshell park for the fourth Music in the Park concert. The Make Believe Spurs, new to the series, gave a very well received performance.
In case of inclement weather, concerts will be held at the Crossroads Church (Grace United Methodist/Bethany Lutheran) on Odill Drive, behind the Norway Historical Museum on the east edge of Norway. Check the Norway Music in the Park facebook page for updates if the weather is questionable.
