NORWAY — The wait is over — the Dickinson County Fair in Norway opens today.

Today is Exhibitor Day at the fairgrounds.

The breeding livestock show is set to take place from noon to 4:30 p.m.

The Skerbeck carnival will open at 4 p.m., with the official opening of the fair at 5 p.m.

The exhibition building will be open from 4 to 10 p.m.

Grandstand entertainment features the WUMPA and local truck pulls starting at 6 p.m.

Fair Board Chair Chuck Parker said preparations for the opening appeared to be going smoothly Wednesday, with the rides, vendors and exhibits all in place.

While the rain could continue into this morning, it should clear by the fair’s opening and remain dry through the end of the fair Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
