Dickinson sheriff issues July report

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Sheriff Aaron Rochon has issued his monthly report for July.

The road patrol served 68 civil process papers, investigated 204 complaints, handled 33 accidents, issued 163 citations and 267 verbal warnings, made 32 arrests — 10 of which were for outstanding warrants and seven of which were for felonies — and completed 156 property checks. There were three transports — one prison, one mental health and one miscellaneous.

The K-9 officer was involved in 15 searches — 10 for the sheriff’s office and five for other local agencies. There was one deployment resulting in an arrest and one that involved tracking.

The correctional center had 87 bookings, with an average daily booking of 2.8 and an average daily population of 56.2. The average female populations was 8.7.

The dispatch center handled 705 911 calls, 3,784 non-911 calls, 1,963 calls for law enforcement service, 592 calls for ambulance service and 58 calls for fire service.

Nine individuals assigned to the sheriff’s work van logged 234 hours at the courthouse and jail, raking and landscaping at the sheriff’s office and painting curbs and parking lots; cleaning, sweeping and emptying the sheriff’s garage; Feeding America food distributions; local food pickups for the Salvation Army; and trimming grass at Ford Airport.
