Fatal shooting in Menominee County
HARRIS TOWNSHIP — One man is dead in a shooting early today in northeast Menominee County.
At about 12:19 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post were called to a residence on County Road 551 in Harris Township, where a 34-year-old Wilson man had been shot. Despite troopers and EMS personnel attempting life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead on site, according to a MSP news release.
MSP stressed this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
The investigation is ongoing and further details will be provided as it proceeds, according to the news release.
MSP was assisted by Hannahville Tribal Police, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office and Rampart EMS.
